If you’ve been wondering how to pop champagne for your photos, you’ve come to the right place. Whether you’re toasting to graduation, an engagement, or your wedding day, this bubbly moment creates excitement and energy in your gallery. So to get that picture-perfect pop, you’ll need to follow a few simple tricks.
First and foremost, these are just tips to read through beforehand. Once the day comes, we’ll go back over these tips and then I’ll guide you every step of the way! No need to worry!
Step-by-Step Guide to the Perfect Champagne Pop:
Choose the Right Bottle
Not all bubbly is created equal when it comes to the perfect champagne spray! Prosecco or sparkling wine tends to have more fizz and pressure, making it ideal for those fun, dramatic shots. Save your money and buy the cheapest kind—it actually works best!
It’s always best to buy TWO bottles in case something doesn’t go quite right on the first try. More than one take gives you variety, and who doesn’t love extra champagne? You can get a pop or twist bottle—I can work with both.
Chill It Well
A super cold bottle keeps the spray under control and makes the stream of bubbles more photogenic. If the bottle is warm, the champagne might foam too quickly and be harder to capture in the perfect shot. Keep it on ice until you’re ready to pop!
Shake It Up
Shaking it is an important step but not until right before! Moments before opening, give the bottle a few good shakes while holding your thumb over the top. This builds pressure inside, ensuring that when you pop the cork, you get a strong, celebratory spray instead of just a light fizz.
Pop at an Angle
If your bottle has a cork, twist it slowly instead of pulling, and angle the bottle slightly upward. This helps control the direction of the spray while keeping the bubbles flowing steadily. Be ready to react naturally—laugh, cheer, and enjoy the moment for the best candid shots!
Celebrate & Have Fun!
The best photos happen when you’re genuinely having a blast! Because I know the pop is a big anticipation, I’ll be there to remind you to smile even when the bottle pops open. Then it’s time to spray the champagne, toss your head back in laughter, and throw your hands up in the air.
When you book with me, I’ll be here to answer any questions to help you pick the right champagne and make sure your celebration is captured in the best way possible. No need to stress—I’ll guide you so you can focus on having fun and celebrating.
